The internet can be both a treasure trove of insightful content and entertainment, and also a source of overwhelming information. That’s why the BTP team has come together to curate a Therapist‘s Corner post for you.
November’s Therapist‘s Corner includes a selection of the best TV shows, books, podcasts, blogs, resources, quotes and memes (both classic and new) that we’ve come across to support you in your therapy and counselling work.
Our goal is to educate, inform and occasionally bring a smile to your face, and make your online experience a little more enjoyable.
☕️Happy reading!☕️
TV/Cinema
Film Club (2025)
Two movie enthusiasts, Noa and Evie, share a weekly film club where their unspoken feelings for each other grow. When Noa decides to move away for work, Evie has a limited time to confess her love before potentially losing him forever.
Rachel Aroesti, writing in The Guardian, described it as a “sweet tale of longing, anxiety and family bickering … [which] retreats into sentimentality“.
Available to watch on BBC.
Brilliant Minds (2024)

BRILLIANT MINDS follows revolutionary, larger-than-life neurologist Oliver Wolf and his team of interns as they explore the last great frontier — the human mind — while also grappling with their own relationships and mental health.
The series explores the mysteries of the human mind and the struggles of mental health, both for patients and the doctors themselves. It also delves into the dynamics of the team and the personal and social limitations they face.
The show is based on case histories from the real-life neurologist Oliver Sacks, who was known for his unique and often empathetic approach to understanding his patients.
Available to watch on Apple TV and Prime Video
Books
“Bodylistening” – Tim Brown
Bodylistening offers an inviting, down-to-earth introduction to body psychotherapy, treating mind, body, and spirit as an interconnected whole. Tim Brown weaves together theory, history, and personal stories to show how embodied awareness can deepen what happens between therapist and client. He gives a clear sense of what a face-to-face somatic session might actually feel like—the language used, the subtle shifts in the room, and the ways two people might explore breath, movement, touch, and emotion together.
Alongside explaining the foundations of body psychotherapy, Brown introduces bodylistening, his own way of working, grounded in presence, curiosity, and attention to the body’s quieter messages. The book also touches on how encounters with nature and the “more-than-human” world can shape our sense of embodiment.
“” – Nea Clark
This book is a practical, accessible guide for therapists, counsellors, and coaches working with ADHD. It goes beyond listing symptoms and instead offers a clear, step-by-step treatment framework, from understanding different ADHD types to structuring the work across each stage of the therapy process. Chapters cover everyday challenges like procrastination, motivation, attention, sensory processing, masking, and energy management.
Visual diagrams, summary tables, and case examples make the ideas easy to grasp and apply in real sessions. Written in a friendly, straightforward style, the book supports both beginners and experienced practitioners who want to feel more confident and grounded when working with ADHD clients.
Nea Clark is an experienced Transactional Analysis psychotherapist (PTSTA), author, supervisor, NLP practitioner, and ADHD coach with a passion for supporting Neurodivergent individuals. She is delivering an online fully day training at BTP called Embracing Neurodiversity in Psychotherapy Practice on Saturday 31st January from 10am-4pm.
“” – Bruce Feller
Bruce Feiler explores how the traditional, linear life story many of us grew up with—move through school, build one career, form a family, age with one partner—no longer reflects how people actually live. After noticing how often inherited narratives clash with real experience, he embarked on a far-reaching project, gathering 225 life stories from across the U.S. These conversations revealed clear patterns: our lives unfold in nonlinear ways, full of unexpected transitions, and many of the ideas we take for granted—like the classic midlife crisis—are more myth than truth.
Drawing on these stories, Feiler offers a refreshing and hopeful perspective. Instead of seeing life’s detours as failures, he shows how we can actively reshape our personal narratives to support us through change.
The book includes a practical “transition toolkit,” helping readers reflect on the story they’re living, question where it came from, and craft one that fits who they are now. It’s an encouraging guide for anyone feeling off-script or in the middle of a life shift.
“” – Dr. Irene R. Siegel
Irene Siegel, PhD, LCSW, received her doctorate from the Institute of Transpersonal Psychology (now Sofia University), and her master’s degree from Columbia University School of Social Work. An Approved EMDR Consultant, speaker, and teacher, she also conducts an integrative psychotherapy practice.
Science and spirituality converge in The Sacred Path of the Therapist as Irene Siegel explores the energetic aspects of therapist-client interaction as a key for clearing past traumas and emotional histories within a shared coherent field environment. Understanding energetic aspects of ourselves and others will unfold the next significant advancement in health and healing. The step-by-step tools provided will facilitate awakening of spiritual consciousness leading to true transformation. A must read for therapists and clients alike.
