Maxine Aston

Maxine Aston is a Relate-trained practitioner, and has an MSc in Health Psychology.

She is qualified as a supervisor and trainer and teacher in adult education. Maxine runs her own Counselling Centre where she has specialised in working with individuals, couples and families affected by Asperger syndrome since 1998. Maxine also offers assessments for adults wishing to discover whether they affected by Asperger syndrome. Maxine has spoken at both National and International conferences.

Maxine is the author of four books, The Other half of Asperger syndrome (2001), the National Autistic Society’s Asperger’s in Love: Couple relationships and Family Affairs (2003), The Asperger Couples Workbook: Making Difference Work (2008), and What Men with Asperger’s want to know about Women, Dating and Relationships (2012), Jessica Kingsley Publishers. Maxine has also written the BACP Information Sheet on Aspergers, written journal articles on Aspergers and been featured in articles about couples managing Asperger’s within their relationship (Daily Mail feature).

Maxine runs workshops for professionals working with couples and individuals affected by Asperger syndrome. These include increasing awareness, couple relationships and sexual issues. Maxine also runs a two day workshop for the females in a relationship with a male or female affected by Asperger syndrome.
