Jenny Ronayne

Jenny Ronayne has over 25 years’ experience working with autism in the voluntary, private and public sectors. For 18 years Jenny worked as the Mental Health Worker with the National Specialist Team on Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) at the Maudsley Hospital, London.

She offers autism specialist counselling to young people, parents/carers, adults and couples where one or both partners are on the spectrum. Jenny speaks at conferences, runs workshops and delivers training to teachers and tutors, support assistants, counsellors, social workers, mental health professionals and GPs, senior managers, care workers, parents and all who work with, or care, for those with autism.

As the parent of a young adult with autism, Jenny founded SIGNAL, a thriving support group for autism in Lewisham over 20 years ago. She is Director of ASPECT (Autism Spectrum Counselling and Training) which offers diagnostic assessment for children and adults, autism-appropriate counselling for couples, young people and adults and training for professionals working with individuals with autism.

Jenny has a first degree in Psychology (BSc Hons) and a second degree in Counselling and Psychotherapy. Dissertations for both degrees focused on autism and comprised research studies into the condition.
