Summary: In this new Brighton Therapy Partnership workshop, Victoria Settle and Sarah Pennock will guide us through some relevant theories and clinical considerations when we are working with someone who brings their sibling relationship to therapy.

*Siblings: same parents, different experience?*

Event Description:

Psychotherapy has traditionally paid scant attention to the impact of sibling relationships, but so many of those we work with are likely to bring this particular relationship dynamic to therapy.

During this one-day workshop we will consider sibling relationships in all their diversity from an attachment-based perspective and will consider the idea that no two children have the same parenting.

This workshop is suitable for any counsellor or psychotherapist (including those in-training) who is curious about the impact of siblings and the sibling relationship on their client.

There will be plenty of time for discussion and questions.

Victoria Settle (Tori) is the former CEO of The Bowlby Centre in Islington, London. She is an attachment-based psychoanalytic psychotherapist and supervisor and is registered as a psychoanalyst with the UKCP.

Sarah Pennock is trained as an addiction psychologist and psychotherapist, and an attachment-based therapist. She’s accredited with the BACP and the Federation of Drug and Alcohol Professionals (FDAP). She runs a busy private practice in Marylebone, London.
